| A BILLERICAY cello teacher is celebrating after her pupils left the Leigh Music Festival clutching seven trophies and 13 gold medals.
Aged from 11 to 17 they all studied under Sally Goodfellow’s eye at her home in Chantry Way.
She said: “I am very proud of them, they are all good musicians who work very hard.
“All of these young cellists have been revising for school exams this term yet they still found the time and the enthusiasm to make music of a high standard.
Their success was all the more remarkable as her students attend six different schools forcing Sally to rehearse the group performance pieces during evening and weekends.
However, her hard work impressed the festival adjudicator, cellist Charles Watt who described her pupil’s performances as “brilliant, entertaining and professionally presented.” |
