A FAMILY'S pet dog has been killed in a fierce house blaze in Pitsea. Four crews rushed to the scene of the fire, in Wythefield, at about 4pm. While making a search of the family home firefighters pulled out two greyhound dogs. But one of the dogs had already died from smoke inhilation.

MOTORISTS using the A13 have faced heavy jams today. Queues formed on the Southend bound carriageway of the road, near to Sadlers Farm Roundabout shortly after 11am. It is believed the jams formed as a result of an earlier collision near the Pitsea flyover.

TWO people had to be cut from their cars after a crash on the A13. The smash happened on the Southend-bound track of the carriageway at Purfleet. Fire crews were called to the scene and had to cut people from both cars. The crash happened at 8.10am this morning.
